Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter from our little family! I can't resist posting a ton of photos, my little girls really hammed it up for the camera for this photo shoot! They had a great Easter! Saturday we visited my parents, then Sunday my in laws came up to visit us! They had their first taste of mashed potatoes and thought we were trying to poison them....oh, girls! I thought they were good! :)

9 Months

Oh dear! About a week late on this update! Well, the girls are 9 months already! I *cannot* believe that their 1st birthday is approaching, far too rapidly if you ask me! The girls are so fun, I really love this age. Although they are giving me grey hairs with their mobility!

They both crawl around like crazy! You cannot keep these girls contained; it's especially fun when they both go opposite directions. The joys of twins! :) They are both pulling up on everything, which is what really makes me the most nervous! There have been plenty of bumps on the head for these girls, yikes! We also just had to drop their cribs to the lowest setting!

Emily has her two bottom teeth and I am pretty sure her top two are starting to come in. Catherine has her two bottom teeth, her two top teeth and one more next to her left top tooth! They certainly get cranky when they are cutting their teeth, but overall it's not too bad. I just give them tylenol or teething tabs to keep them calm, and it only lasts a few days until they are back to normal.

They are eating a lot, although their appetite decreases when they're cutting teeth. They are still on 100% breast milk and eat 3 meals a day. For breakfast they split a mushed banana, and then I usually add a cube or two of fruit that I've made. I also add in some homemade organic oatmeal every so often as well. For lunch we usually eat yogurt and puffs. Then for dinner we do a veggie cube and fruit cube combined, and they always finish dinner with a baby mum mum!

We love taking walks - we do at every possibility! We had a nice warm spell two weeks ago and we took them for a walk every day, it was great. We even went to the zoo for the first time last week with twin boys just our age! They are Catherine and Emily's future husbands and are OH so cute! We all had a great time together!

They nap twice a day - usually for about an hour - an hour and a half at 10:45 am, then the same amount of time at 4:30pm. They still sleep great at night, which is wonderful!

They love playing with their toys, although they get bored pretty easily. They torment each other. It's sort of funny when one pins the other down, or tries to climb on her. Or if they are both standing next to each other and one falls down she pulls the other down as well. It's rather amusing. :) They don't watch TV too awful much, but they do tend to be drawn towards Little Einsteins, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!

Baby Swimming Lessons

In an effort to get the girls out more, I decided to sign them up for baby swim classes! My local YMCA offered them for a great price and I decided it would be a great activity to help socialize them more, since they've been going through some pretty severe stranger anxiety issues. The first class went pretty well, but they cried on and off for about 10 minutes until they decided they "neutral" about it. The second class was this morning and went SO great! They didn't cry ONCE and even smiled.....at people!!!! Catherine seemed to enjoy it more, and splashed and played with pool toys like noodles and balls! Emily liked to kick but was VERY clingy to whoever was holding her. They both made a new friend who is 14 months old! We're all looking forward to next Saturday's class!

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday was such a funny day! Raining and thunderstorms in the morning, and sunny and 70 in the late afternoon! So for a change of scenery, we decided to take playtime out to the back deck! The girls really seemed to enjoy exploring new things!

2 babies + 1 bath = LOTS of fun!

The other day I decided to give the girls a bath together for the first time! I haven't done this sooner because I've been too neurotic. I'm still too neurotic to put them in the BIG bath together (I can just see one falling over and cracking their head open....) BUT I think we are just fine in the little bath! Plus we may as well use it as long as we can, they'll get too big for it soon enough!

They had SOOO much fun. I really think it was one of the best twin moments we've had so far. They laughed so hard at each other, splashed like crazy, made waves, stole rubber ducky from sister over and over. It was such a riot. You'd think bathing 2 babies at once would be quicker than doing one at a time, but that is SO not the case since I let them play together for so long!
